I used to use urxvt on linux.  From memory, when I used ssh to a
remote machine I had to upload a termcap file for urxvt because
otherwise the results were unpleasant.  That is, using other terms
worked fine, only urxvt was problematic.

I now nothing about OpenBSD, but if it uses termcap files there is
one at https://github.com/cpjreynolds/urxvt/blob/master/doc/etc/rxvt-unicode.termcap
