You can use some other program as a display_filter in mutt and have
keys configured to toggle display_filter on and off. The
mail-to-filter from Gary Johnson's Mutt Page[1] does this nicely, but 
the script is quit old and might need some adaptation for newer versions 
of perl. archive.org link as the original site is no longer reachable.
