They are generally used interchangeably throughout the code, manual, and

However there is one case where the term "mailbox" has a special 
meaning: <https://muttmua.gitlab.io/mutt/manual-dev.html#mailboxes>. 
This command specifies folders that are *monitored* for incoming mail.

The "browser" has two modes, one lists directories in general.  It can
be entered for instance via <change-folder> followed by '?'.  If you hit
tab, it toggles to list only monitored folders.  This mode can also be
directly entered via <browse-mailboxes>.

Technically, I agree the message is poor.  However, the phrase is 
actually a modified quote originally from Cool Hand Luke (see 
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cool_Hand_Luke#%22Failure_to_communicate%22>), 
intended to be somewhat humorous.

Perhaps we could add a L10N comment above to make the actual meaning 
clear for translators, but it would be a shame to rip it out.

An email header, Supersedes: or Supercedes:, can specify a message-id. 
The intent is to say, "the original message with this message-id should 
be considered incorrect or out of date, and this email should be the 
actual email.

The ~S pattern will select those "out of date/incorrect" emails 
referenced by another email's Supersedes header.

These are help descriptions for two new "view attachment" functions. 
The full description of <view-pager> and the difference with others is 
described at 
<https://muttmua.gitlab.io/mutt/manual-dev.html#attach-menu>

Since it's a help line, I was trying to be brief.  It refers to a 
mailcap line with a copiousoutput field/flag/tag/option.

Would appending "entry" make it clearer?  e.g.
  msgid "view attachment in pager using copiousoutput mailcap entry"
  msgid "view multipart/alternative in pager using copiousoutput mailcap entry"
